LittleLeaf is built privacy-first. The single most important thing to know: your prompt content never leaves your browser.

What the extension does

The LittleLeaf browser extension reads the text you are typing into a supported AI interface (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, Perplexity) purely to compute a green / amber / red rating locally, in your browser. The rating logic runs on your device. The prompt text is never sent to LittleLeaf or anyone else.

What we collect

When you submit a prompt, the extension sends a small, anonymous event to the LittleLeaf service. It contains only:

• token_estimate — an approximate size of the prompt (a number)
• rating — green, amber, or red
• provider — which AI service (e.g. claude.ai)
• region — your browser locale (e.g. en-GB)
• tenant_id — your organisation key, if configured
• ts — a timestamp

That is the complete list. There is no prompt text, no response text, no personal content, no browsing history, and no tracking across sites.

What we never collect

• The content of your prompts or the AI's responses.
• Files, images, or attachments.
• Your name, email, or account details from the AI provider.
• Any data from pages other than the supported AI interfaces.

Permissions

The extension requests only activeTab and storage, plus network access to api.littleleaf.ai to send the anonymous event above. It does not request broad access to your browsing.

How the data is used

Anonymous events are aggregated into your organisation's Scope 3 AI-emissions dashboard — counts by rating and estimated energy, water, and carbon. They are not sold, and they are not used to build a profile of any individual.

Data retention & your rights

Aggregated event metadata is retained to produce trend reporting. Because we never receive prompt content or personal identifiers, events are not linked to a person. Organisation administrators can request deletion of their tenant's data.
